Abingdon, UK May 21, 2015 — Staff at Penlon headquarters took part in Wig Wednesday yesterday raising money for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people.
Colourful wigs, celebrity wigs, and simply outrageous wigs, we had a hair-lairious day, and all for a good cause!
CLIC Sargent was formed in 2005 through merger between CLIC and Sargent Cancer Care for Children. They provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support. From diagnosis onwards their aim is to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.

Arab Health 2015, a great success for Penlon
Abingdon, UK Feb 18, 2015 — Arab Health is an important annual event for Penlon, as we welcome existing distributors and new customers from across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. We were in a prime location in the main exhibition hall, with an exciting new stand design that looked great and worked well. We had a continuous flow of passing traffic and visitors to the stand, generating a record number of leads for new business and potential commercial partnerships.
Customers on the Penlon standCustomers on the Penlon standProducts on display included our new range of anaesthesia and intubation equipment for MRI applications. Penlon continues to innovate in the field of medical devices for anaesthesia and our stand featured new solutions for anaesthetic agent delivery—in vaporizer design and workstation systems such as the Dual CGO option for the Prima 400 Series.
For the third consecutive year the Prima 460 Anaesthesia System was used in the Surgical Simulation Area of the ABHI’s (Association of British Healthcare Industries) stand.
This year’s show attracted 87,450 visitors from over 150 countries. Nearly 3750 companies exhibited so we were pleased to be included in the official day-one highlights video posted by the Arab Health team on YouTube (click here to see the clip, look for Penlon around 30 seconds into the video).
“Arab Health 2015 looks to be our most successful show in recent years. The number of enquiries taken this year exceeded the previous years’ totals after only three days. Thank you to everybody involved for their hard work, without whom the show would not have been as successful.”
Peter Worrallo (Sales and Marketing Director)
Arab Health took place January 26th – 29th, 2015 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Penlon Welcomes Oxford Theatre Personnel
Penlon HQ in Abingdon opened its doors recently to a group of newly qualified theatre personnel from Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital
Abingdon, UK Nov 20, 2013 — The visitors were given a tour of the assembly areas, followed by an informative training session on anaesthesia systems from Penlon’s global training manager.
The group found the factory tour extremely interesting, for the majority it was a first ever glimpse into medical device assembly and test processes, as carried out by a world class manufacturer conforming to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 (the stringent standard that governs quality management systems for the design and manufacture of medical devices).
The training session included a general introduction to anaesthesia systems, and a highlight of the session was an opportunity to view partially dismantled products, with the function of critical components explained. The importance and value of manufacturer’s recommended pre-use checks was also explained and emphasised.
Penlon welcomes the opportunity to meet and talk to clinical staff involved in anaesthesia and is particularly passionate about supporting the local community, students and newly qualified staff as they start their careers in the world of anaesthesia and critical care.
Ronald Lyder, Practice Educator, stated “The day was fascinating, edifying, educational and the hands on bit was very interesting. We gained an understanding of how the anaesthesia machines are made and now understand the reason and logic for the pre-use tests requested by the manufacturer and how to care for the machine by using it correctly”.

Penlon Launches New Anaesthesia Systems: UK Design and Build for Hospitals and Surgery Centres Worldwide
Abingdon, UK Sep 23, 2013 — The Penlon Prima 450 and Penlon Prima 460 are both fully featured anaesthesia systems with clinician-focused choices and benefits to suit both large theatres and induction rooms.
The Prima 450 and Prima 460 are a unique fusion of customer feedback and Penlon´s experience, skills and renowned quality. The new generation of anaesthesia systems have been designed, engineered and manufactured in our own UK facility to the latest ISO standard for anaesthetic workstations (80601-2-13).
