Wayne, PA and Alpharetta, GA Jun 8, 2011 — Precyse, a leader in health information management (HIM) services and technologies, has announced that Linda Kloss has joined the Precyse Advisory Council (PAC). Kloss, who is widely recognized as a leader in the healthcare information management industry, served as CEO of the 60,000-member American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) for 15 years, from 1995-2010. After retiring from AHIMA, she founded Kloss Strategic Advisors to offer thought leadership on information management and governance and business strategy facilitation and consulting. With her industry knowledge and strategic insights, Kloss is poised to advise Precyse as it works to simplify its clients’ everyday challenges by providing holistic services and technologies that transform clinical data directly into actionable information.
The Precyse Advisory Council functions as a source of high-level input and advice on the strategic positioning and expansion of Precyse’s service and technology offerings. The PAC also serves as a conduit for new business opportunities because of the extensive experience and networks developed by each of the council members.
“We are thrilled to welcome Linda to our Advisory Council,” said Precyse Board Member Alan Weinstein, who is Chairman of the PAC. “As CEO of AHIMA, she was instrumental in expanding the influence and growth of the organization, and we look forward to the valuable insights and perspectives she will bring to Precyse.”
During her tenure as CEO of AHIMA from 1995 to 2010, Kloss was recognized for expanding the influence of the organization through extensive collaboration and an increased role in setting standards and shaping national and international policy and programs for health information management. She led AHIMA’s co-founding of the Certification Commission for Health IT, strategic initiatives to support health information management practice transformation and the expansion of knowledge and information resources and research services to support change. In 2007, Modern Healthcare named her as one of the top 25 Women in Healthcare and from 2002-2007 to the list of the Top 100 People in Healthcare.
Prior to AHIMA, Kloss served as a founding senior executive for MediQual Systems, Inc., a technology company that pioneered severity adjustment of clinical data for quality improvement, and she led consulting and education services on quality measurement for InterQual, Inc. Kloss has served on a number of boards of directors and public and private advisory boards. She holds a master’s degree in organization development with a concentration on non-profit change leadership and has a bachelor’s degree in health information management.
