Valencia, CA May 20, 2010 – U.S. HealthWorks, California’s leading operator of occupational healthcare centers, today announced the acquisition of both Technimed Occupational Medicine healthcare centers, located in Vernon and Commerce. The acquisition of these centers expands the number of U.S. HealthWorks operated medical centers to 66 in California and 134 nationwide.
The medical centers located at 3364 East Slauson Avenue in Vernon and 4730 Eastern Avenue in Commerce are occupational health facilities focused on providing injury and illness diagnosis and treatment, preventive services, pre-employment and post-offer exams and testing, and return-to-work programs. Terms of the transaction, which was effective May 20, 2010, were not disclosed.
Therese Hernandez, senior vice president of operations for U.S. HealthWorks in California said, “We are continuing our expansion in the important California market. This is an exciting acquisition for us because the addition of these two centers enables us to better serve our Los Angeles-area clients and patients. We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Landers and the highly respected team at Technimed.”
“Having been in this market for over 25 years, it was very important to us that we transition to a recognized leader in the industry, one who will take good care of our patients and clients,” said Dr. David B. Landers, founder of Technimed. “U.S. HealthWorks is uniquely positioned to provide a statewide network for employers, as well as, having real-time electronic access for employer clients, who are, more and more, frequently using online resources to better manage their claims. U.S. HealthWorks has it all, so our choice of a successor was a simple one.”
